Terms of Use, Disclaimer and the Australian Legal Position

Using this site means agreeing to what follows. It is deliberately brief, because the site only does one job: it writes about online casinos and table games for adults in Australia. It runs no casino, holds no player funds and takes no bets.

1. Information, not advice

What is published here — ratings, rankings, reviews, rule explainers, strategy charts, answers to common questions — is offered to inform and to entertain. It is not advice of a financial, legal or professional kind, and nothing on it suggests that a reader ought to gamble. A house edge or a return figure describes how a game behaves across a very large number of bets. It predicts nothing at all about one evening's play, and no method set out on this site changes the plain fact that casino games cost money over time.

2. How accurate the pages are, and how they change

Casino details are noted at the moment of testing and published beside the date the page was last brought up to date. Those details cover how many tables a site runs, what the limits are, which studios supply them, the bonuses and the payment routes, and how long a payout takes. Operators alter all of it without telling anyone. The site does what it reasonably can to keep the pages current and puts right any error that is reported, but it cannot promise that a figure still holds at the instant a reader acts on it. Where they differ, the casino's own terms always win.

3. How the site earns commission

Reading this site costs nothing, and it is paid for by commissions that casinos hand over when a reader opens an account through one of the links here. Those links are tagged as sponsored and load in a new tab. Commission has no say in the order of a ranking or in the score a casino is given; how the order is arrived at is written up on the how we review page. Following an affiliate link costs the reader nothing extra.

4. Age, and where you are playing from

This site is written for readers of 18 and over. Gambling below that age is against the law in Australia, and the site neither publishes for nor knowingly gathers anything from anyone younger. It falls to each reader to confirm that playing at an online casino is lawful where they are: the rules differ from country to country, and individual casinos exclude particular jurisdictions in their own conditions.

5. Where Australian law stands

Under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (Cth) an operator commits an offence by offering or advertising online casino games to people in Australia, and the Australian Communications and Media Authority polices that against the operators. Nothing in the Act creates an offence for a person in Australia who plays. Every casino on this site is licensed abroad and operates abroad; at no point does the site describe an online casino as licensed in Australia, because not one of them is. A reader who needs the position settled for their own situation should seek legal advice.

6. Sites we link out to

The links here lead to casinos, payment providers, support services and other sites that this site has no control over. What they publish, the terms they set, the way they handle data and whether they stay online are all their own business. Anything at issue over an account, a deposit, a withdrawal or a bonus is between the reader and the operator, and is settled under that operator's conditions and the complaints route offered by its licence holder.

7. Limits of our liability

As far as the law permits, neither the site nor its writer carries liability for any loss that follows from using the site or from trusting anything on it. That covers gambling losses, money left in an account, a forfeited bonus, data charges, and any indirect or consequential harm. None of this removes a right that cannot be removed under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Who owns the content

The wording, tables, diagrams and code on the site belong to BlackJack AU unless marked otherwise. Short passages may be quoted as long as the source page is linked. Casino names and their logos stay with their owners and appear here only to identify the casinos being reviewed.

9. Playing responsibly

Gambling can turn into a problem. The deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion available at every operator listed are explained on the playing responsibly page, and free, confidential support is available at any hour from Gambling Help Online on 1800 858 858.

10. When these terms change

The date at the top of the page goes with the current version, and a change means the whole text is swapped. Carrying on using the site after that counts as agreeing to the new version. Any question goes through the contact page.
